Into The Great Unknown Again

Into the great unknown again

Forget the heartache and the pain

Look for the sun through all the rain

Into the great unknown again

Into the great unknown again

Now that you’re more than just a friend

I wish this thing would never end

Into the great unknown again

I said I’d always be alone

Forget the seeds that I had sown

I’d grow old all on my own

Stay in the world without a home

Into the great unknown again

Hoping I won’t feel the pain

Of hurt that made me feel insane

Into the great unknown again

You took me in with all my pain

And made me feel secure again

Took all the parts and made them whole

You took my heart you took my soul

Into the great unknown again

Now that you’re more than just a friend

I pray this thing will never end

Into the great unknown again

Into The Great Unknown Again

What Did We Ever Learn From History?

There is an oak tree in a nearby avenue

It was planted there for us to note

Remembering those who fought to change our attitudes

The women fighting for their right to vote.

They were strong, so strong

And yet it’s shrouded now in mystery

So much wrong , so wrong

What did we ever learn from History?

There is a family in a nearby neighbourhood

Who have to live through what is Scotland’s shame

Hate slogans painted though not really understood

The writing tells us much of those to blame

They were wrong, so wrong

’Cause it’s not shrouded now in mystery

So much wrong, so wrong

Why did we never learn from History?

Redemptive suffering was the chosen way to go

With Luther King there was a guiding light

“Who are the least of these?” You heard him say to you

Passive resistance turning wrong to right

He was strong, so strong

He climbed the mountain through the mystery

So much wrong, so wrong

What did we ever learn from History?

They were so strong, so strong

The road to freedom is a long hard way

So much wrong, so wrong

What did we ever learn from History?

What did we ever learn from History?

What Did We Ever Learn From History?
I Won't Throw Love Away

I Won't Throw Love Away

So you don’t think time has taken love that was secure

The road at times has been so long and tough

We’ve been through some stormy weather

and I know for sure

My best sometimes is just not good enough

I gave you everything

Especially the blues

Can’t we call it a day

You go your way, I go mine

No more left to say

I won’t throw love away

You said that you needed me to be
your long lost friend

We had something special of our own

You seem not to see however it was bound to end

And you would reap the seeds that you had sown

I gave you everything

Especially the blues

Think I’ll call it a day

You go your way, I go mine

No more left to say

I won’t throw love away

You can’t help the way you’re feeling

So much love in vain is such a cost

I can’t see my heartache healing

We had so much then that now is lost

You said that you needed me and I was taken in

Loving you was easy there’s no doubt

All the passion that you promised didn’t quite begin

The torch I carried for you has gone out.

I gave you everything

Especially the blues

Can’t we call it a day

You go your way, I go mine

No more left to say

I won’t throw love away

Let Me Back Into That Dream

Let me back into that dream

When I came home with you that night

Your parents welcomed me in

They were kind and polite

Like in The Cottar’s Saturday Night

Hoping in vain that I’d treat you right

We had everything or so it seemed

Let me back into that dream

Let me hide there from the night

With its memories and regret

There are some things in this life

You will find you can’t forget

Like A la recherche du temps perdu

I was standing right there with you

Let me back into that dream

And keep on dreaming I’m with you

Let me back into that dream

Let me start anew

Let me back into that dream

Dream those dreams of you

I was a hero on that day

Why did I throw it all away

Let me back into that dream

And dream you’re here to stay

Don’t wanna wake up without you

Don’t wanna wake up alone

I’m alone when the morning comes

Let me back into that dream

Let Me Back Into That Dream

Like No Other

You are quiet and sincere

With serenity and dignity

The truth is treasure you hold dear

With simplicity and honesty

You know that love will conquer all

Your words have truth and clarity

You walk straight and never fall

With sincerity and charity

Like no other, like no other,

like no other you are true

You know that anger is in vain

And patient is the way to be

Your love can take away the pain

You shelter me from the driving rain

You know that beauty can be vain

You nurture love and keep it warm

You take away the hurt and pain

Like a shelter from the raging storm

Like no other, like no other,

like no other you are true

Like no other, like no other,

like no other

You know that love will conquer all

You nurture love and keep it warm

You take away the hurt and pain

Like a shelter from the raging storm

Like no other, like no other, like no other

Like No Other

Last Chance Saloon

So much to do and so little time

By the time you get through you could lose your mind

I just have to escape, I have to leave this place

I’m in such bad shape the world is hard to face

I’m in the land of  tattoos, I was born with a silver spoon

And they’re calling last orders at the last chance saloon

I had no idea that my life would be so tough

But now one drink’s too many and ten’s not enough

The pressure’s too much I must go and hide

And close my front door to the world outside

It’s wall to wall misery, people howlin’ at the moon

It’s drinking up time at the last chance saloon

You know it’s up to you how much time you spend

Because all good things really have to end

But be careful where you look, be careful not to smile

Because the people in here they’ve been around for a while

I’ve been scoring off the days right from August through to June

‘Cause they’re closin’ all the doors at the last chance saloon

Last Chance Saloon

Dreaming Alone

You’ve been walking the streets so long

It’s been taking its toll

You’ve been wand’ring alone all night

You’ve been searching your soul

Just to go through the motions is getting harder each day

And the debt that you owe to her now has interest to pay

It’s only then that you realise she’s not coming home

It hits you right between the eyes that she’s not alone

And you have to accept it that the thrill is now gone

And the dreams you were dreaming

with her you’re now dreaming alone

It’s way past repairing there has been too much pain

And the plans that you made with her have all been in vain

And you have to accept it – you’re out on your own

And the harvest is making you reap the seeds you have sown

It’s only then that you realise that she’s not alone

It hits you right between the eyes she’s not coming home

And you have to accept it – the thrill is now gone

And the dreams you were dreaming

with her you’re now dreaming alone

Dreaming Alone

You're The Only One

I should have realised this would happen to me

I’m still carrying the torch but I just can’t see

Why your emotions still exclude me so

I’m in too deep and I can’t let go

How in the world can I explain to you?

I’m all alone when I’m not with you

What in the world am I supposed to do?

When you’re the only woman

makes my dream come true

I’ve been carrying the torch for way too long

When it comes to you I know I can’t be strong

You neglect and reject me with a wink of your eye

Can I keep on going how much more can I try?

How in the world how can I explain to you?

I’m all alone when I’m not with you

What in the world am I supposed to do?

When you’re the only woman

makes my dream come true

I have had enough and so I’m heading on

By the time you know I’ll be a long way gone

Though I wish I could leave you and I wish that was true

But where do I go to if I can’t have you?

How in the world can I explain to you?

I’m all alone when I’m not with you

What in the world am I supposed to do?

When you’re the only woman

makes my dream come true

You're The Only One

I'd Rather Be A Rolling Stone

You don’t want me woman,

you’ve gone and left me all alone

If you don’t want me, woman,

not gonna stay here on my own

I’m not livin’ here without you

I’d rather be a rolling stone

You’re the only woman to make

me want a place called home

But now you left me lonesome

Feelin’ restless on my own

I can’t settle down without you

I’d rather be a rolling stone

You know I woke up Sunday morning

Looked around and you were gone

Left my dream without a warning

Disappeared into the dawn

I’ll do anything you want, girl

Don’t make me face the world alone

I’ll give it everything now

If you’ll only come back home

Don’t you leave me in the cold now

Don’t let me be a rolling stone

The nights are long and lonely

The days are empty too

And now you left me high and dry

I feel so low now I’m not with you

You’re the only woman could make

me wanna come back home

You know I need you, woman

Don’t leave me out here on my own

I don’t wanna be without you

I’d rather be a rolling stone

I'd Rather Be A Rolling Stone

Another Day

Where can I hide,

Where can I hide from your love?

In the darkest moments, I knew you were always there

Showing me the way and guiding me along with care

Protecting me from harm, trusting me to stay with you

In the deepest crevice you have been the light I knew

Where can I hide,

Where can I hide from your love?

I have travelled on not hearing what you had to say

Then you picked me up and paid the debts I had to pay

In the dark of night you have brought the light of day

I left old ways behind, you have helped me find my way

And today is another day

Ev’rything’s gonna be alright

You protect me from the storm

In the darkest night

In the darkest moments you have kept me from despair

Showing me the way and guiding me along with care

In the spirit of my friends you have helped me carry on

Kept me in the fold safely when all hope was gone

And today is another day

Ev’ry thing’s gonna be alright

You protect me from the storm

In the darkest night

Where can I hide,

Where can I hide from your love?
